Hezekiah's Prayer
It's the prayer that makes God change the course of the situation
He breaks protocol, takes action
It's the prayer, it's the prayer

Those who lived in failure, now have victory
God inclines to listen to someone who prays
With a weary face, tired of so much suffering
Hezekiah awaited death to appear
Perhaps recalling the times he reigned in righteousness
Not understanding why his heart was hurt
God decides to send a prophet
To talk with him, to fix him
God was truly determined
The king's life was to end
When Isaiah received the order
He hurried to deliver God's message
He enters the palace very encouraged
And finds Hezekiah lying in a corner
The prophet speaks boldly
Put your house in order, for you will die
Hezekiah, feeling the weight of the word
With his face to the wall, began to say
Lord, have mercy on me
You know the depths of my heart
I did what was right, I did your will
I embraced integrity, walked in righteousness
God hears Hezekiah's cry
And Isaiah the prophet shouts
I have news to tell you
I heard your prayer
I will add fifteen more years to your life
