Ventanita Florida
Luis César Amadori
Florida Little Window
It was a clear night
That only the star was illuminating.
Next to my humble window
'I swear' -he said- 'my love is eternal'
I gave him my life
And amidst sweet promises, he left.
Alone and moved
To the gate, I entrusted my love.
Florida little window
Of my old shack,
On your gate is hanging
My timid illusion.
When I open you, I see
A garden of hope,
Little window, and I finally close you
Singing for my love.
But it was a lie
His promise of lasting love.
Since winter came
Night after night, I wait for him in vain.
Not even hope
Is left to see him return.
I loved him so much!
Why did he deceive me, why?
Florida little window
Of my old shack,
On your withered gate is
The flower of his betrayal.
When I open you, the night
Chills my soul,
Little window, and I finally close you
Crying for my love.
