Chance

How good it is to be a Christian
When everything is going well for you
Friends smiling embrace you
And they are with you

It's not bad if fame is part of your daily life
And you have money to do as you please
It's so easy to sing, it's so easy to speak
Without stopping to think about tomorrow
Without perhaps meditating on Jesus' love for you

But if everything goes away forever
Including friends
And illnesses afflict you
And fame no longer exists
It's easier now to distance yourself from God
In times of such affliction
Because instead of praying and trusting in Jesus
You believe in your own power

Stay close to God
And don't let this chance pass by
To suffer whatever is necessary
But by Christ's side
Seek God, my brother
And open your heart
Then ask for the power to overcome
Only then will you find victory and peace
