Thrown Away
I bring the 'just in case' full
With my poems
And my country verses.
It comes packed with lines
With my traveling guitar,
I bring it for a love
That tied me up tight... threw a precise lasso
And with good rope,
And when I tighten the rope
It doesn't loosen.
The more I pull
The tighter it squeezes, the more it suffocates me
And in its lasso it has me
Like a wild cow...
Stumbling around
Jumping awkwardly.
Trying to escape,
I'm chained.
Looking for freedom
And I'm still behind bars.
And hitting more laments
Than a lost calf...
I always had my ears up
In bullrings, never fell into a false corral.
And look at the irony
Where I've ended up, brother,
I'm no longer a bull with ears up
I'm no longer barren land...
They branded me
With the iron of affection,
They branded me
With love and feeling.
Four fences
They put as boundaries,
Fences of love
Where I am a prisoner...
Stumbling around
Jumping awkwardly.
Trying to escape,
I'm chained.
Looking for freedom
And I'm still behind bars.
I'm getting used
To living thrown away...
