Nas Veias Do Brasil
Luiz Carlos da Vila
In the Veins of Brazil
The blacks
Brought from beyond the sea
Came to spread
Their transcendental things
Respect
To the sky, the earth, and the sea
To the indigenous joined
Love, freedom
The strength of a baobab
So much light in thinking
Came from there
The creativity
So many the old black man has already healed
And the black mother breastfed
The people have a black soul
Dreams taken from the stove
The magic of the song
The carnival is fire
The samba runs
In the veins of this gentle motherland
It takes altitude
To assume the blackness
To be much more Brazil.
