The flood of 24
Doctor, it wasn't a joke
In the current of the waters
The whole family was coming down
There was hardly a survivor
To tell the story
That's how mom spoke
That holy lady

Cattle and horse were coming down
Duck, turkey, and chicken
Kid, pig, and sheep
Everything the people had
The dams couldn't
Bear so much water
River, stream, and pond
All together in one sea

The canoeists fought
Taking people across the river
But the calm of the waters
Ran water in swirls
The canoes sank
In the violent current
It seemed like a punishment
From the Author of Nature

My Padim Ciço asked
Our Lady of Sorrows
To stop that flood
Causing these horrors
When the prayer ended
It immediately stopped raining
The sun shone in the sky
For everyone to see
