Destinos

Destinies
Destiny wants me to sing
And, singing, I concentrate
I carry the longing inside
And the rest, I play on
They can call me crazy
But I learned from the most broken
Not to gallop on the stones
Nor fight for very little
Lesson number one
I learned from my father
Whoever doesn't know where they're going
Won't go anywhere
I never shied away from a challenge
If it touches me, I introduce myself
And I have the mane frayed
From galloping against the wind
From my fountain of feathers
Almost all have gone astray
Some, because they grew too big
Others, because they were too small
I had a before and an after
When I let myself go aimlessly
Certainly, for that reason
My destinies are two
Destinies of an unbelieving Indian
On the same heart
One that holds me to the ground
Another that pulls me to the sky
But what captivates me
Is the destiny of a wild horse
Instead of silver trappings
The claws of raw leather
Destiny wants me to sing
And, singing, I concentrate
I carry the longing inside
And the rest, I play on
Destiny wants me to sing
And, singing, I concentrate
I carry the longing inside
And the rest, I play on
I carry the longing inside
And the rest, I play on
I carry the longing inside
And the rest, I play on
