Morning Star
It seems like this star
That I've adored since childhood
God left for the gentle cow
From the heavenly ranch
I always get moved when I see it,
So luminous, so beautiful
Crossing the gate
Of the sky that changes color
Announcing to the mateador
That the day comes from behind it
The dawn gets stuck
After the night settles in
And the Morning Star, queen
Goes sparkling across the field
Every morning that I see you,
Old Morning Star, queen
That barbaric instinct
That made the gaucho wanderer
And an uncontrollable desire
To walk the path and hills
Tracking the wandering natives
Who got lost along the way
And dying, were reborn
To be the banner of the arrow
The dawn gets stuck
After the night settles in
And the Morning Star, queen
Goes sparkling across the field
And here I stop to think
About what I heard recently
That it's necessary to learn
In order to teach later
Because no matter how rudimentary
The teaching may be
Each phrase is like a throw
That needs to be stretched out
And then well smoothed
To weave a feeling
The dawn gets stuck
After the night settles in
And the Morning Star, queen
Goes sparkling across the field
Sometimes I feel in my soul
That I'll never straighten up again
If one day I lose my way
From the bright light of the Morning Star
