Educando Esclavos

Educating Slaves
Since I was little they imposed on me that I had to go to school
And do what the teachers told me without complaining
To study, that I had to get good grades
And get a degree if I wanted to be someone in life
But if school is supposed to prepare you for your adult life
I think I speak on behalf of many when I say
That they forgot to teach me the most important things in life
No one taught me how to vote
But I was forced to learn that you have to pray before eating
I don't know how the parliamentary system works
But the teacher bullied me for my clothing
Initiative is not encouraged, nor are creative minds motivated
With a different perspective, do as I say and not as I do
Creating idiotic robots so they don't think too much
No one taught me how to pay taxes
Or if they are stolen by inflating budgets
Excuse me, teacher, I didn't understand the subject
Why are there so many politicians and such poor healthcare?
It took me thirteen years to understand that we come to school to pass exams and not to learn
Memorize to forget in this cubicle, it's ridiculous
It doesn't matter if you're Einstein, if you don't have the title
Creating gears to make money
Without teaching you the basics of the economy first
It's easy to control us with empty heads
Without knowing what we accept when signing our mortgage
What is a condom and what is it used for?
Come on, don't talk nonsense and just do that hypotenuse
Do you remember the notebooks studying even in the summer?
But have you been taught about your human rights?
I know Roman numerals that I will never use
But not first aid that could save lives
I learned about the spectrum of light
That is not visible, but never about eating healthy or growing my own food
Our well-known lost generation
A bored youth with forbidden aspirations
Daring minds, subjected to being prisoners
Whose only way out is to escape abroad
No one taught me how to get a job
But if I don't stand out, I will be a failure
They impose religion on you, no matter what you may feel
You talk to me about peace and you educated me to compete
They never mentioned the laws of my country
Or how a new law is passed
Or if I can choose or if someone decides for me
But it comforts me that in my school I learned Latin
Have I?
Everything makes sense
When manufacturing idiots is the only goal
And many people say no, the parents are to blame
If you don't educate a child well, that's the never-ending story
We start from the base, that the base does not hold
If what we have now is bad, what is coming is much worse
Being happy is a right, but we have forgotten
Children want to learn, but not to grow up to be slaves
