Un Dia Cualquiera

Any Given Day
ANY GIVEN DAY
Anita
I don’t have much, but I’m good with what I got,
Under the stairs, I sip my tea, it’s hot,
I fire up the heater, feed my cat,
Cuddles, Mizuco, she’s getting up from her mat.
I look at the horizon through my window,
Where the Pan-American bridge starts to show.
A minute of silence turns into an hour,
Time on my knees begs for power, Yo!
Alone in my room, it’s almost seven,
I turn on the TV, same old smiling face, heaven,
I stand up, zoom in, and get close,
Better bundle up to catch some fresh air, I suppose.
In my backpack, a good old tape,
To play on my Walkman, I’m lost without a shape,
'Cause I don’t have a plan,
Can you take me for a hundred, please, Mr. Busman?
'Cause my cash only covers two rides, man,
I say thanks! I hop on, find a seat, I can.
The leaves on the trees sway with the breeze.
Hey? Are you Ana?
Yeah.
Why not make it a little crazier!!!
Hey!
'Cause this day I’m rhyming is just like any other,
Ah, ha.
I notice there are days that are just plain dull,
Eh, heh.
Better sit on a bench, chillin’ at Paseo Ahumada,
Relaxed and calm, laughter’s what I’m after.
I take one step, two steps, three, I’m tired,
Do I lose my groove when I’m wired?
Losing track of the depth and the form,
Good thing this shadow follows me, keeps me warm.
Sometimes I wonder, do I think too much?
Questioning myself when it’s not a big touch,
The story keeps rolling, the story keeps its flow,
Different actors, each with their own show.
Balance, jing - jang, dibidibida,
cook, like, Cool and the gang, no clan, no plan,
To the energy, poetry, melody, on this day,
Where I hit the peak of my balance, hey.
My life made of feathers and bricks,
And I’m under this light, that barely flicks,
Here comes the chicotroco, I touch you, you touch, you touch, you touch, you touch, you touch.
'Cause this is a day like any other, another!
'Cause we’re just like the rest of the crowd,
'Cause this is a day like any other, another!
'Cause this is a day like any other, ah, ha.
'Cause we’re just like the rest of the crowd, eh, heh.
'Cause this is a day like any other, another!
