Toño
In my block Toño is famous,
his silhouette everyone knows.
In my block Toño is famous
His trumpet fills the street.
An old hat, a jar of coins,
a dog passes by and barks in rhythm.
Tasty music, the sun beats down hard,
the kids in the street won't stop shouting.
Toño slowly saves his coins
Walks looking for another corner to play.
He plays the trumpet,
it sounds throughout the city.
In my block (...)
An old market, the vendors shout,
the taco lady asks him for a song.
When evening falls it's a cantina
The best place to play a good danzón.
Toño calm, puts away his trumpet;
The night in the neighborhood has just begun.
