Passage
Mamoru Miyano
Passage
How long has it been since I got here?
On this winding road I’ve traveled
My bag was empty inside
Just filled with useless junk
The future I dreamed of as a kid
Seems so far away now
Back then, did I laugh at myself?
But if I could share it
(See you later)
(that’s how I live my life)
I’ve screamed and pushed myself too hard
(I have a place to go)
Loved and been loved, laughed and cried
(things that have come and gone)
If I stop and look back
I’ll find the place I need to return to
Like light shining through a crack in the clouds
My feelings will clear up someday
If I can accept things as they are
They’ll change without changing at all
Like that bird soaring in the sky
I’ll aim for what’s beyond the clouds
Things that must change
Still, some things will never change
Holding onto this dusty junk
Let’s walk the path where the light shines now
Pass & age, the future me is dreaming
Am I getting any closer at all?
If this voice can reach you
What I want to say is
(I’m off now)
(that’s how I live my life)
I’ve struggled and cried
(I have a place to go)
Ran and stumbled, laughed and cried
(things that have come and gone)
If I can keep moving forward
I’ll reach the place that’s waiting for me
(That's how I live my life)
I didn’t know anything until I met you
The future I can’t see
If I can walk with you as it unfolds
Surely, surely
Like light shining through a crack in the clouds
My feelings will clear up someday
If I can accept things as they are
They’ll change without changing at all
Like that bird soaring in the sky
I’ll aim for what’s beyond the clouds
Things that must change
Still, some things will never change
My own passage, weaving through
To the place where the light breaks through the sky
Singing along
