Rick y Manuel
Manny Montes
Rick and Manuel
It's 7 in the morning
Ricky and Manuel at the spot
Since they were kids, that's been their thing
Attending to the clients
The first one who arrives
Earning money, making good sales
In the illegal business they both survive
Their eyes tightly closed, they perceive nothing good
Around 9, a young Christian passes by
With a serene face, he shakes their hands
He gives them a pamphlet and tells them to seek Christ
The young man says goodbye and continues his way
Manuel tears up the pamphlet and lights a cigarette
But Ricky, thoughtful, puts it in his pocket
It's 12 and they decide to go home
Continuing their journey to see if something new happens
Manuel arrives and his mother asks where he was
He yells at her, saying it didn't matter to him
Ricky arrives, pensive and tired
He sits on a chair and starts reading the pamphlet
He wonders why there were tears in his eyes
It was the touch and power of the Holy Spirit
(Chorus)
Which path will you take, which will you choose
Ricky's path or Manuel's
It's 6 in the evening, back to the same
One foot on the ground and the other in an abyss
When suddenly that kid appears
The same one who had given them the pamphlets
He asks if they want to go to church
Manuel says no, but Ricky says yes
Manuel tells Ricky, why should I go
If the money isn't there, the money is here
They arrive at the church and preaching was already happening
And Ricky was attentive to what they were saying
They made a call, the choir, and he didn't hesitate
He felt Christ's love and gave his heart
He felt a change in his life
And an impressive peace
He felt more than happy
It was something exciting
Immediately after the service ended
Ricky went to the spot
To tell Manuel what had happened
That same night he had converted
Immediately when he arrived at the spot
He stops at a corner, a black truper
They take out guns from the window
And gunshots are heard in the distance
Not escaping the bullets
Who is already dead there
And the guns come out of his cold body
(Chorus)
From his cold body, the guns come out
But there's something in this sad story that alarms me
That Manuel, having the King, didn't want Him
Now his soul, without hope, lies on the ground
Why he didn't want to take Him, I don't understand
Now his soul will be in eternal punishment
While Ricky's soul ascended to heaven
And before leaving, they said a word
Manuel, why didn't you want to come with me
If it was just for a little while
I won't see you again until never, friend
Ricky, can't you see I'm burning
Please give me your hand
Please help me, can't you see I'm burning
