Linea de Fuego

Line of Fire
I wasn't born in a golden cradle with all the privileges
I remember that without power, mom gave us a stereo cassette
And from that day on, I decided I would be a singer
Standing in front of the mirror and the crowds, I saw
And so I started without knowing in this big game
I told some about my dream and they said I was blind
And I walked in the line of fire as a kid in my neighborhood
And how difficult it was living in that scenario
I had to be brave and tough, my notebook was my shield
Many threw bad vibes, but none of them could
And they didn't understand that the master put his trust in me
Even if I hit rock bottom, his purpose would be fulfilled
I walked in the line of fire of criticism and opposition
But the heat of religion couldn't overcome this passion
I kept my head up, doing my thing with pride
Although it hasn't been easy when your own people stone you
Being trampled mercilessly with injustice and abuses
Just because I carry the truth and a different way than them
Throw stones at me, throw mud at me
My purpose will be fulfilled here no matter what
Because it's easy to be behind a social network
To question and criticize instead of going to work
If I talk about Jesus, everyone wants to support me
And if I walk like him, they want to kill me
In the line of fire I was born, in the line of fire I grew up
In the line of fire I lived, and in the line of fire I will continue
In the line of fire I was born, in the line of fire I grew up
In the line of fire I lived, and in the line of fire I will die
I heard about Jesus when I was only six
The great master, the son of God, the king of the universe
In '96, by mercy, I reached his arms
And from that day on, I started walking in the line of fire
And to this day, I continue with him and I don't let go
And like a mill, I arrive where there's a need
He guides my steps, he and I are a team
That's why they criticize me for shattering stereotypes
For having passion, determination, courage, and daring
Because I got tired of reaching some, it's time to reach hundreds
No, thousands, even millions
So they can see there's hope for their hearts
And it's called Jesus Christ
Who sat down to eat with Zacchaeus even though he was a sinner
Who forgave the adulterous woman and didn't condemn her
Who chose Matthew as a disciple even though he was a tax collector
The one who on the Sabbath day left many healed
The one who died for Pentecostals and Catholics
Died for addicts, prostitutes, and alcoholics
The one who confronted the truth with the frenetic Pharisees
Saying the healthy don't need doctors
To Jesus who completely surrendered my life
My dreams, my character, my goal, even my ego
I pray he protects me as always
To survive as he did in the line of fire
In the line of fire I was born, in the line of fire I grew up
In the line of fire I lived, and in the line of fire I will continue
In the line of fire I was born, in the line of fire I grew up
In the line of fire I lived, and in the line of fire I will die
