Nossa Vida É Missão
Manoel Nerys
Our Life Is Mission
In these fields, in these forests
In these lakes and streams
In these rivers, plateaus and mountains
Plains and valleys, they will announce
On the back of a beautiful horse, by boat
Or canoe, rowing at the bow to answer Your call
I am a missionary, I am a people of God
I am indigenous, caboclo, mestizo making life a mission
Here in this great settlement of the Amazon Church
I am a messenger of a God who is a brother
Oh, oh, oh, oh, hey, hey of a God who is a brother
Jesus Christ, our guide, animates our journey
Points us in the right direction and with open arms
Comes to teach us that it is necessary to choose
For the pilgrim brother who has been forgotten and to fight for him
We take on the struggle and the dream of all those who have fallen
And our mission is nourished by remembering their struggle
May the blood of these missionaries pulse in the veins
Of this living Church and flood this altar
We are children of the Church of the north
Missionaries of this region
We form the community
In this geography that we hold in our hands
We learn to listen to the message
Of a God who speaks to us in the breeze
In the waters, in the flowers, on the ground
