Con Los Hombres Azules
Manolo Garcia
With The Blue Men
On my eyelids a vigil
The rooster of dawn,
On the pendulum that moves the wakefulness.
Your resounding words, your sharp gesture
Are the icy wind that whistles
Through the cracks of my thoughts.
And the sadness I feel today is so great...
Depart, mirage of eternal love,
You are only a literary whim.
You offer no shelter to the pilgrim
Nor water to the thirsty
Nor truth to the one who seeks knowledge.
I detest time, I lament anxiety.
I only want to rest, by the warmth of the fire,
I tie myself to the moment, and the only thing I possess,
With the blue men, to go to the blue desert.
It is what I desire today, and I wish it for you
May your path be filled with bells, fifes, and drums.
May destiny never be adverse to you.
May you find in your life
Clear and entertaining friends.
On my eyelids, a vigil,
Fragile bird of dawn.
You are the pendulum that wounds in wakefulness.
Your sharp words, your resounding gesture
Are the icy wind that whistles
Through the cracks of my thoughts.
And the nostalgia I feel today is so deep...
Depart, mirage of eternal love,
You are only a literary whim.
You offer no shelter to the pilgrim
Nor water to the thirsty
Nor truth to the one who seeks knowledge.
Time will subdue the lament
Under a clear sky by the warmth of the fire.
I embrace the moment and the only thing I desire
Is to go with the blue men
To the blue desert.
It is what I desire today.
And I wish for you to find your path.
It is what I wish for you today and what I write to you today.
