Serena Barca

Serene Boat
In a carnival, Cadiz of the chirigota, of hands seeking love in drops of mistela.
On the hips of the night sailor to the twinkling brightness of the waltz of the waves,
in the blue cove where my beloved waits. Moored to the foam of joy reverberates.
Serene boat in which my queen rows, queen of seas, of the fine daggers.
Serene boat in which my beloved reigns. Cadiz shines... Of wicker and demijohns.
It was in a carnival of that small Cadiz, chance of everlastings, mirror of larks in its skies
and homeland, that place where the spirit grazes among dreams linked in Phoenician anchors,
or seafaring towns. Or in a blue landscape of birds and hills.
Serene boat in which my beloved rows, queen of seas of the fine daggers.
Serene boat in which my beloved reigns. Santa Maria, port of lovely ladies.
