La Gran Capital (El Provinciano, El Poh)
Manuel Garcia
The Great Capital (El Provinciano, El Poh)
I arrived in provincial Santiago
And Martin Rivas
He came out to meet me on the subway
The chickens that I kept in my chest
They sang to me, Martín Rivas
The chickens sang to me in the subway
That there in my town the night is a poem
May my patio, my friends, the stars; they are in me
My shadow points towards the mapocho
And my shoes give in the rush
In the micro, on the step
And in the corners with my eyes I take
Photographs
I photograph my shoe on the step
In the mapocho my shadow has taken a bath
And in the corners with my eyes I take
Photographs
When I was a kid I played "big capital"
And now seriously with the dice of destiny
I am advancing the little squares of the road, in the city
The chickens sang to me in the corner
That there in my town the night is a poem
May my patio, my friends, the stars; they are in me
The devil sets fire to the windows to the west
And in the east a nun is the mountain range
Who always waits for you to open the windows and doors
The devil sets fire to the windows to the west
Chickens sing, nuns sing in the east
That a provincial has left
That a provincial has left
That a provincial has left
