Oso Goloso
Manuel Mijares
Greedy Bear
(Deep in the heart of the woods
In a tree hollow after a month-long nap
Greedy, big and boastful yet clumsy
Wakes up yawning, ready to feast
On everything in sight, I’ll sing it out loud)
When the sun beats down hard, Mr. Bear Javier
After nearly a month of snoozing
He’s got a monstrous hunger and devours all he sees
Frogs, swallows, and marmots
The big guy jumps around, catching sight of the hawks
And snacks without mercy, rabbits two at a time
Ignorant greedy bear
You’re just a clumsy fool
Who can’t do anything right
Chubby spoiled bear
Josefina the squirrel is the one who challenges you
And wherever she goes
Let’s climb that tree after we drink
A jug of milk, just for the two of us
You have to jump from the highest point and fly like me
You can eat me if you go further
Ready, set, go, greedy bear is a meteor
Josefina says she’s going, but greedy stays behind
(Roaring like a tanker truck
Greedy crashes to the ground
Just like a ripe melon
While from his mouth start to spill
Rabbits, swallows, and even a baby armadillo
Javier, embarrassed
With his ribs, eyelashes, and even his breath in a million pieces
Promises to go vegetarian
In front of all the little animals in the woods singing in chorus)
