Mordecai
The Bible tells us a story
Of a faithful servant of God
Sincere, honest, facing protests
His name is Mordecai
At that time there was a man named Haman
Second to the king
Who would not humble himself, demanded from Mordecai
To bow down at his feet!
Mordecai did not obey, and Haman's fury grew
Against God's anointed
Haman was not satisfied, and he prepared a gallows
To kill Mordecai!
When it was about to happen, someone spoke to the king
They tried to take his life, Mordecai warned him
The king sent for Haman, and asked him
What should be done to a man whose honor pleased me?
And Haman replied
He should be honored throughout the province, and thought
This man is me
The king rose from his throne and said
Go quickly call for Mordecai!
Haman went to call Mordecai, and put royal garments on him
On his finger he placed a ring
The king will honor you because you are faithful
You will ride in a royal chariot
Haman will shout by your side
This is the man the king has chosen
Chosen prince, anointed by God
Haman went to call Mordecai, and put royal garments on him
On his finger he placed a ring
The king will honor you because you are faithful
You will ride in a royal chariot
Haman will shout by your side
This is the man the king has chosen
Chosen prince, anointed by God
If you have promises from the Lord
Do not think that the Lord has forgotten you
The God you serve has not changed
He is the same God of Mordecai!
The king is sending for you
To put royal garments on you
On your finger he will place a ring
The king will honor you because you are faithful
You will ride in a royal chariot
And your enemies will shout
This is the vessel God has chosen
The rare jewel, anointed by God
