I Am Free
I tried to find for my life just one reason
A good friend that I could trust
But the path I chose was deserted
Without someone close to help me
Only loneliness remained as a companion
I sat by the wayside and began to ask
Why live if life has no more meaning?
Thinking like this, I then decided
I will end my life
But it was then that someone shouted with a voice of love
Your life has value, it cost mine on the cross
Know that it was for your sake that I suffered
I died so you could live
So I looked, it was Jesus
His gentle gaze completely changed me
Then I felt his sweet peace envelop me
Hope was growing within me
Returning my will to live
My weary soul found rest
Once again the sun shone, showing its light
Now I have a thousand reasons to continue
For I am free, I can walk
For I have life in Jesus
