Jesus' Gaze
Before the rooster crows three times
You will deny me, said Jesus to Peter
And Peter said to him: I tell you my Lord
If necessary, I will die with you
But I do not deny you, my master
And in the cold dawn the soldiers beat him
Without fear, without compassion, but Peter looked
He did not believe what he was seeing
Then a woman approached him and asked
Are you one of them? Were you with him?
And Peter then denied
But what Peter saw was the gaze of the gentle master
He was looking into his eyes and the rooster crowed
The pain in Peter's soul was great
How Jesus' gaze marked Peter's gaze
Peter remembered and even cried in repentance
This is his gaze, deeper than the sea
Stronger than the volcano, faster than the wind
Than any thought
It is the gaze of my Jesus inside your heart
This is his gaze, piercing like a sword
It shines brighter than a diamond
Cuts more than a razor
God's gaze does not fail
Believe that this gaze is looking at you
For your family, it is looking at you
For your home and your life, this gaze
Is looking at you
This gaze so sweet and gentle, is looking at you
This gaze full of tenderness, is looking at you
Is looking at you
