Abraão e Isaque
Marco Aurélio
Abraham and Isaac
One day, in Beersheba, he left for Moriah
An old man leading a silent boy to think
No one knew the mystery
They only followed in their footsteps
But they knew that the old man was a friend of God
The day fell, and then they stopped to rest
And the next morning, they were walking again
Old Abraham without fear, knowing that God is great
He went to meet God to test his faith
Three days passed, and then they managed to get there
In the right place where faith he would prove
The servants stayed, and so, taking the boy, he went
Leaving the certainty that the two would return later
Isaac walked ahead, handsome even in his walk
Who knows, maybe Abraham, at that moment, started to cry
Isaac asked: My father, where is the lamb, where is it?
My son, the Lamb for himself, God will provide!
It will provide, it will provide, my son
The Lamb for himself, God will provide!
It will provide, it will provide, my son
The Lamb for himself, God will provide!
Old Abraham prepared the altar with great care
Placing the wood in order for the fire to catch
He took the boy and tied him up, then laid him on the altar
There was a very sharp weapon in his hand
Old Abraham, by faith in God's plan, did not run away
He was willing to do what God asked of him
But the angel cried out to him: Do nothing to his son
For now I know that you fear God!
He will provide, he will provide, brother, victory for you, God will provide!
He will provide, he will provide, brother, victory for you, God will provide!
