La libertad
Marco Masini
Freedom
With my dirty clothes on a chair
and my bed looking very bad,
with your picture humiliating me,
I live in imperfect disorder.
With a beard of seven days,
the laundry keeps piling up,
I don't have shirts,
I'll keep getting fatter,
a disaster in the mirror, but...
Long live freedom,
to take life as it comes,
letting yourself go,
because a man without anyone defends himself better.
Long live freedom,
women absorb you sooner or later,
everything is already seen,
I have learned to use freedom as a shield.
After the storm comes the calm,
the window is full of idylls,
I feel like crossing it,
watching a children's movie.
Look, dictator, my love,
without you I will continue the same,
I will keep living
even without your permission
today, tomorrow, and always it will be seen.
Long live freedom,
I would like to be more selfish than a cat,
but with the humility
to accept myself as I am, because nobody is perfect,
long live freedom,
every passing day becomes harder,
and if they don't give it to you, it turns into madness,
but this is freedom.
Another Sunday, how bad, to be without you,
too much freedom to be here,
it's your love the last, but not the end,
it's a simple accident that breaks my freedom.
Nothing to comment,
the summer of our sins is over,
alone in this bar,
envious of the courage of the lovers,
what will happen to us,
will we play a game of crossed loves,
or will they not meet
and it will have been foolish to get lost in freedom.
Yes, it would be foolish, it would be a fatal end,
that two lovers prefer freedom.
