Pequeño Gran Chopin
Marco Masini
Little Great Chopin
I’ll buy you the piano
If you promise to study for real
Making with your hand
A gesture that felt like gospel
My dad that night
Made me dream of him and he played
Music is like that, it makes us shiver
And you become just a little great Chopin
And so my teenage years
I spent rehearsing the lessons
While with arrogance
Other kids played with balls
I was so different
Life offered me other passions
Music is like that, it makes us shiver
And the more you dive in, the more you see
The key to why
And when it caresses you
Music gives you the vibrations
Of a girl’s body
When she moves, filled with emotions
And from the conservatory
We graduated with hope
Of loves like a rogue
Feeling as strong as a train
Little great Chopin
Why isn’t it Christmas Eve?
Why does it sometimes tire me when it plays?
Music is like that, it makes us shiver
That’s why I still play, even here
Getting excited
But today that piano
Is out of tune ebony and ivory
Doing my job
In the piano bar of the old neighborhood
But when I get back home
I put on my tux and looking at the sheet music
I discover my secret
And no one knows what’s inside me
A classic Chopin
Little great Chopin
This concert of mine
Is a voice thrown into the infinite
Who hasn’t understood it?
Misunderstood and only lives in me
Little great Chopin
