Filipenses, O Avesso
Marco Telles
Philippians, The Inside Out
Oh Lord, tame my heart
What I feel inside me mistreats, and is in vain
Lord, tame my heart
What I feel inside me mistreats, and is in vain
Even though I am a sinner
Every day I convince myself
I'm not that bad
I deserve good for myself
Deep down I understand
That my guilt makes sense
Even so, I boast
And fill myself with the justice
That deceives and mistreats me
It only deceives me, it's a trick
I am a sinner
I exalt myself, console myself
Paint a picture with my face
I raise my good name
And in the end the fall is great
I assume a high place
Usurping this throne
That not even the best of us
Is worthy to sit on
Oh Lord, bend my heart
Let me be like You are
Lord, change my heart
Put me in my place
On my knees singing
With the saints Your glory
Elevating Your good name
To the highest of altars
With the people confessing
That Jesus is the Lord
And there is no other who deserves
To sit on that throne
