Marshmallow Angels
Down they were given their name for the rest of humanity
Because of an extra chromosome
Others were mistakenly pointed out at birth
Due to negligence or accident, diminished forever
And I who believe you have done everything beautiful and good
I have wondered so many times why
Until I saw in their eyes the brightness, the mark of a superior being
The silver shine of your disguised face
Little marshmallow angels
More unsettling than a volcano
Capable of breaking the hardest heart
They fill the valley with bubbles of pure air
They are messengers of peace
They leave their mark wherever they go
They will never know how much love they are capable of generating
Where others denounce injustices of fate
I have seen your hand and your kindness
Because in their gazes there is always an invitation
A question so simple
That is medicine to the heart
And my complaints run out, all my grievances cloud
My tangle unravels on its own
And their innocence pampers and heals
My faint heart and I recognize your handwriting
Even if the line is crooked
Little marshmallow angels
They carry a hurricane inside
An explosion of silence in the battle
A white cirrus in the blue of the morning
They are messengers of love
They come from afar seeking the sun
And they sneak without permission into the depths
Of the heart
Capable of breaking the hardest heart
They fill the valley with bubbles of pure air
They are messengers of peace
They leave their mark wherever they go
They will never know how much love they are capable of generating
They will never know how much tenderness drips from their fingers
As they pass by...
