Fisherman
I am a fisherman, don't ask me to
Stay to rest
Don't talk to me about the heat or home
Don't set the table
Because I am a fisherman
And the meaning of my life is in the sea
I know nothing about the night in the city
I'm not interested. I only understand the language
Of the Moon, if the waves rock me
And if there are fish in the sea
I have to go out to fish
That's my goal
Sailing through the gray night
And casting the net into a sea that moans and cries
Rowing and resisting
Until the light of dawn appears
Don't have compassion
Because this is my mission, I have no other passion
I am a fisherman
And I'm here, judged for going out
To sail, for being stubborn
Reckless and not waiting
When there's a storm
For trying to follow
The impulse that burns my heart
That has become
My obsession, and encourages me
Sailing through the gray night
And casting the net into a sea that moans and cries
Rowing and resisting
Until the light of dawn appears
Don't have compassion
Because this is my mission
I have no other passion
Rowing and resisting until
The light of dawn appears, don't have compassion
Because this is my mission
I have no other passion; I am a fisherman
Don't insist anymore
I know I'm bloodied and it's normal
Because the sky rains glass
Stones, and sometimes they cut
Don't suffer more for me
I'm not weak or finished, I'm not bad
And if my hair is white it's because of the salt
And I don't care because
I am a fisherman
