Pátria Minas / Imaculada
Marcus Viana
Homeland Minas / Immaculate
Homeland,
Homeland is the back of my yard.
It's Cornbread,
And the taste of a good coffee.
Homeland,
It's the smell and mother's lap.
It's a white rosebush,
That grandma planted in the garden.
If the world is too big,
I'm an ox cart,
I'm song and peace,
I'm a mountain between earth and sky,
I'm Minas Gerais.
There are waters, mountains, and a wood stove,
The ceramics and the song of Jequitinhonha;
There are churches, there are mines;
It's the baroque, it's Ouro Preto;
It's the steam train.
Oh, what a good train from Minas!
Diamantina, Caraça, Maquiné Cave,
Falling Cascadanta, Congonhas do Campo,
São João Del Rei, Sabará, Tiradentes,
Pampulha's Church,
My Belo Horizonte.
If the world is too big,
I'm an ox cart,
I'm song and peace,
I'm a path between earth and sky,
I'm Minas Gerais.
