Amores
Mari Trini
Loves
Loves are leaving
Like the waves of the sea
Everyone has loves
But who knows how to take care of them
Love is a boat
With two oars in the sea
One oar is gripped by my hands
The other is moved by chance
Who hasn't written a poem
Fleeing from loneliness
Who at fifteen years old
Didn't let their body be embraced
And who, when life fades
And hands tremble already
Who hasn't searched for that memory
Of a boat shipwrecking
Loves turn old
Before they even begin to love
Because love is a child
That must be taught to walk
Love is like land
That must be plowed and sown
Look at it at dusk
So they don't come to trample it
