Só Vendo Que Beleza (Marambaia)
Maria Bethânia
Just Seeing What Beauty (Marambaia)
I have a little house there in Marambaia
It's by the beach, just seeing what beauty.
There's a vine that in the spring
Is all blooming with princess earrings.
When summer comes, I sit on the porch,
I grab my guitar and start playing.
And my dark-skinned man who's always in a good mood
Sits beside me and starts singing.
When the afternoon comes, a flock of swallows
Flies in a swarm, making summer
And there in the woods, a thrush warbles
A beautiful melody to cheer up
my heart
At six o'clock, the chapel bell
Chimes the Ave Maria
The moon rises behind the mountains
Announcing that the day is over.
