Noite de Estrelas
Maria Bethânia
Night of Stars
The loneliness of the Moon burns on the ground
Illuminating my lost gaze
Between meadows, chasms, plateaus
My eyes burn with the last memory
Like a bonfire on a night of stars
I lie alone, with a view of the world
Silencing my dreams, my complaints deep inside
But I take flight in search of your footsteps
I walk barefoot on the land of your body
Gentle step, gentle taste, scent of the wild
My loose arm I throw to you in secret
Come be my song, my verse, my sonnet
Come be a poem in the arid desert
I will be an oasis, silence, celebration
I will be the countryside in moments of warmth
