L'aguila Negra
Maria del Mar Bonet
The Black Eagle
One fine day, or maybe one night
Near the sea, I had fallen asleep
When suddenly, the sky fills with light
And a black bird emerges out of nowhere
Slowly, flapping its wings
Slowly, it kept turning
Close to me, the beating stopped
And, as if fallen from the sky, the bird came to a halt
Its eyes were ruby-colored
And its feathers the color of night
And on its forehead, a thousand rays of soft tone
The bird, crowned king, wore a blue diamond
With its beak, it touched my face
Its neck I found in my hand
It was then that I knew who
Image of the past, wanted to return with me
Good bird, take me with you to the land
Of other times, be my friend
Like before, in clear dreams of a child
To gather trembling stars and more stars
Like before, in clear dreams of a child
Like before, on a white cloud
Like before, you and I will light up the sun
And on the island of memory, we will cast rain
The black bird turned its eyes to the sun
Towards the sky, it took flight suddenly
One fine day, or maybe one night
Near the sea, I had fallen asleep
When suddenly, the sky fills with light
And a black bird emerges out of nowhere
Slowly, flapping its wings
Slowly, it kept turning
Close to me, the beating stopped
As if fallen from the sky, the bird came to a halt
Its eyes were ruby-colored
And its feathers the color of night
And on its forehead, a thousand rays of soft tone
The bird, crowned king, wore a blue diamond
With its beak, it touched my face
Its neck I found in my hand
It was then that I knew who
Image of the past, wanted to return with me
One fine day, or maybe one night
Near the sea, I had fallen asleep
When suddenly, the sky fills with light
And a black bird emerges out of nowhere
One fine day, or maybe one night
Near the sea, I had fallen asleep
When suddenly, the sky fills with light
And a black bird emerges out of nowhere
