Canción Del Jacarandá
María Elena Walsh
Jacaranda Song
To the east and to the west
It rains, it will rain
One flower and another celestial flower
Of the jacaranda
The old lady is in the cave
But she will come out
To see how beautifully it snows
From the jacaranda
The squirrels laugh
Ha ha ha ha
Because the wind tickles them
The jacaranda
The sky on the sidewalk
Is drawn
With foam and tissue paper
Of the jacaranda
The wind like a wizard
Came around here
With its tail it swept the drawing
Of the jacaranda
If it passes by the school
The kids might
Put on a cockade
Of the jacaranda
To the east and to the west
It rains and will rain
One flower and another celestial flower
Of the jacaranda
