La Familia Polillal
María Elena Walsh
The Moth Family
The moth eats wool
From night to morning
Bites, eats, eats and bites
Red wool, green wool
Sitting in the wardrobe
With its plate and bib
Eats colored wool
With knife and fork
Their hungry little ones
Have button cribs
Her husband so moth-like
Peeks out from a pocket
Suddenly approaches
Mrs. Mothball
Very plump they'll see her
All wrapped in cellophane
The moth family
Spies on her through a buttonhole
And aims at her with a needle
At the mothball witch
But Mr. Moth orders
Don't kill her, I feel sorry
Let's go to other wardrobes
To fill them with holes
And they all go on a trip
With lots of luggage
The threads of a blouse
And a packet of fluff
