Lengua Filosa
María Elena Walsh
Sharp Tongue
Seems like they're saying
Throughout the neighborhood
That I have a sharp tongue
Just like a rattlesnake
Sharp is my hearing
And I see in the dark
And it just so happens
In a town that's so familiar
To see visions
There are plenty of devout women
I, on the other hand, say
What I saw behind the door
Thing that I took for certain
If it was a lie, may I drop dead
And so much sincerity
Who will thank me for it
I always tell the truth
And that's how it goes
Seems like they're saying
That I live in idleness
Idle is the one who sees but doesn't look
Who hears without listening
I'm super busy
With clothes to wash
Because there's a lot of dirty laundry
In a town that's so familiar
For the scissors
There's a tailor and a hairdresser
I am honest
I don't cut or add anything
Thing that I took for certain
If it was a lie, may I drop dead
And so much sincerity
Who will thank me for it
I always tell the truth
And that's how it goes
