Quando Fui Chuva
Maria Gadú
When I Was Rain
When there was no more space, I was small
Where life fit me tight
In some corner, I settled
My dance, my raindrop traces
And what does it mean to be at peace
To be mine and thus be yours
When I was no longer searching
I could finally see in your eyes, dressed in water,
I let myself fall from here, calm
Washing the steps, the dreams, and the sidewalks
And so, in your body, I was rain
A good way to find each other
And so, in your taste, I was rain
A good way to let life happen
Nothing of what I was fits me now
I’m just a drop, flowing free down my face
And it only settles when it finds your lips
And even if I lose myself in you,
I will never be that girl again
Who turned dry
Watching life pass by the window
When I was no longer searching
I could finally see in your eyes, dressed in water,
I let myself fall from here, calm
Washing the steps, the dreams, and the sidewalks
And so, in your body, I was rain
A good way to find each other
And so, in your taste, I was rain
A good way to let life happen.
