Una Voce e Una Chitarra
Marianna Lanteri
A Voice and a Guitar
I remember when I was a little girl
We used to go to church on Sunday morning
In the town that I haven't forgotten
I want to go back, how much time has passed
On the way back from school, we used to sing
While at home, mom was there for me
And those days I felt so alive
Like back then, maybe even more
And I'll sing with my voice and a guitar
Those songs from the past that will never fade
I'll try those emotions of a little girl
Who caressed her mom
Before leaving for the city
In the evening, the fireplace was lit
Everyone in the family before going to bed
I slept with my dream in the drawer
Until one day to my mom
I had said
I want to go to my love who is far away
I'll write to you crying
In the house, we'll have two children
But every moment, I'll think of you
And I'll sing with my voice and a guitar
Those songs from the past
That will never fade
I'll try those emotions of a little girl
Who caressed her mom
Before leaving for the city
I'll try those emotions of a little girl
Who caressed her mom
Before leaving for the city
