Rosa Embriagada
Marília Mendonça
Drunk Rose
A rose so beautiful inside a bottle
Who died drunk, alone in the early morning
She was a girl from a good family, my teenage love
The woman I wanted with the purest innocence
Today she's just one more among many out there
Who seeks in alcohol a reason to smile
She traded happiness for false friendships
It seems like only now she's facing reality
And today she takes another sip
Sitting on the sidewalk in front of my house
The girl who was so delicate
Everyone calls her Drunk Rose
Today she knocks on my door
Crying, with smudged makeup
Tired of this messy life
Begging to have my love back
Today she's just one more among many out there
Who seeks in alcohol a reason to smile
She traded happiness for false friendships
It seems like only now she's facing reality
And today she takes another sip
Sitting on the sidewalk in front of my house
The girl who was so delicate
Everyone calls her Drunk Rose
And today she knocks on my door
Crying, with smudged makeup
Tired of this messy life
Begging to have my love back
