Contra Viento y Marea
Marilina Ross
Against All Odds
Against all odds
Let's challenge the shadow in the light of an idea
With the soul ignited, we must walk through life
Against all odds.
And even if the sea is adverse
And we are immersed in very ugly waters
Let's continue the journey
That our courage carries faith.
Against all odds
Each sun repeats itself, each day dawns
And a garden of poetry flourishes with determination
Against all odds.
If we carry ardently
The star on our forehead like a torch
Among a mountain of pines, a path will open
Against all odds.
Against all odds
A child's smile is the great panacea
And an outstretched hand, the grown tenderness
Against all odds.
Love has a spirit
That laughs, that ignites, that creates and recreates
And even if the devil dislikes it, it sprouts and flourishes
And turns evil around.
Against all odds
There are heaps of hands to do the task
And those piles of desires to reach tomorrow
Against all odds.
What matters is the people
From the south and the north, from there, wherever
And winning the game so that life triumphs
Against all odds.
Against all odds
Let's propose without fear a great assembly
Where it is proclaimed that people love each other
Against all odds.
Banish greed,
Throw injustice from a rooftop
And hang a sign that says 'I love you'
And everyone sees it
Against all odds
Let's advance with everything without getting stained with tar
If necessary, on the stone we will plant ivy
Against all odds.
This was my proposal,
Perhaps what remains and everyone desires
Is to be where the anxiety of being free vibrates
Against all odds.
May God make it so!
