I Did See
It was me who saw my Northeast suffer
It was me indeed, and I came here to say
I did see, I saw drought and I also saw rain
I did see, the truth I must not hide
In the rain like this, black people cry
In the drought, white-winged bird flies
I've seen country folks crying
And seen crops being lost
I did see but the storm passed
I did see however, calmness arrived
