'O sfaticato
Mario Trevi
'The lazy one
I am the lazy one of the neighborhood
And I don't have the energy to work
I walk around from morning till night
And I'm happy to live this life here
If the sun is out, I look at the sun
When it rains, I look at the water
I don't work hard and I don't tire myself out
For fear of wearing myself out
I'm content, I'm happy
I have plenty of money
I'm respected, I have friends
Who know how to respect me
I go to the waterfront
All the time, acting foolish
I court foreign women
Through the city streets
I feel so tired this morning
I couldn't even get myself out of bed
They brought me a chicken for lunch
But what an effort it is for me to eat
I'm going to the cinema tonight
But I struggle to pay attention
And I easily fall asleep, from the tiredness that overwhelms me
I go to the waterfront
All the time, acting foolish
I court foreign women
Through the city streets
