Diario de María

Mary's Diary
I look into your eyes, amidst so much crying
It seems unbelievable that they have nailed you
That you are the little one I cradled
And who fell asleep so quickly in my arms
The one who laughed when looking at the sky
And got serious when praying
On this wooden cross I see that little one
Who spoke among the doctors in the temple
Who calmly answered when I asked
Who took care of God's matters
That same child, the one on the cross
The King of men, is called Jesus
That same man was no longer a child
When at that wedding I asked him for more wine
Who fed a thousand people
And looked directly at the poor and sick
He laughed with those he loved the most
And cried silently when his friend died
The evening falls, the skies cloud over
Soon you will return to your Eternal Father
Sleep, little one, sleep my child
For I have given you all my love
Like in Nazareth, that morning
Here is your servant, here is your slave!
