A Semente
Mattos Nascimento
The Seed
The seed, breaks the ground
Grows like a beautiful child
Who eats the bread from the Earth
The seeds will bear fruits
Feeding life through the air
Leftover food, red and green the plantation
That sprouts, in the backlands, under the sunlight
And in the hands, suffering, of a people
Who plant the seed in this warm soil
Moistened by the crystal-clear water, falling from the sky
Turning the Earth into life
Earth fallen in plantation
Lives, dreams, achievements, and struggles
It's also a seed, that we must plant
To harvest peace, and a future of glories
With each seed we plant
We leave our history on the ground
Ah ah ah
