Die Reise

The Journey
An old photo in my hand
When we barely knew who we were
Five summers and we were endless
Until everyone went their own way
Tim is now in Freiburg, Tobi in Berlin
Philipp became a lawyer, only Hannah stayed
Manu wanted to be a dancer, now he's studying business
Time passes so quickly in the rearview mirror
So the years continue to pass
So the new begins after the old
We are on the journey, and eventually
We will arrive, we will arrive
We start over, almost give up
We stumble and fall and pull ourselves back up
So the years go by, and eventually
We will arrive, we will arrive
Was briefly home, was not here for long
Where stone by stone stands as before
The old street is almost like back then
And yet so much has changed
Kathi has children now, we hardly have contact
Kolja does social work and Mark couldn't make it
Clemens travels through France, still searching for his luck
And I play my songs and think back to you
And everyone has stories they like to tell
Time passes so quickly in the rearview mirror
So the years continue to pass
So the new begins after the old
We are on the journey, and eventually
We will arrive, we will arrive
We start over, almost give up
We stumble and fall and pull ourselves back up
So the years go by, and eventually
We will arrive, we will arrive
I play my songs here and think back to you
To all our dreams, to every moment
No matter where we end up, everything has a purpose
Every journey leads somewhere
So the years continue to pass
So the new begins after the old
We are on the journey, and eventually
We will arrive, we will arrive
We start over, almost give up
We stumble and fall and pull ourselves back up
So the years go by, and eventually
We will arrive, we will arrive
