Getsêmani
Maysa Borges
Gethsemane
In Gethsemane, He prayed
Crying out to the Father, saying if it’s possible
Let this cup pass
And even in His anguish, He cared for me
He gave Himself in my place so I could have life
Then He drank from the cup
It feels like I’m there
Watching Jesus being handcuffed and the soldiers
Taking Him to be judged in court
And finding no fault in Him
Still, He was condemned
I see Him carrying the cross and the soldiers
Beating Him, and Calvary in silence
He walks on, step by step
With each step He took, His blood was shed
But He didn’t give up on me
Come, come see the pain He’s feeling
With His body bloodied
Hands and feet nailed to a cross
Come, come see the price He paid
For me and for you, asking nothing in return
Jesus died there, He didn’t abandon us
Yes, I love the message of the cross
Until I die, I will proclaim it
I will also carry my cross
Until I trade it for a crown
