Today I want to tell a little story
That happened a long time ago in a kingdom without memory
There was a princess of surprising beauty
Her parents were the richest kings of the continent

Not far from the castle lived a boy
In a small house without a living room or office
His mother a seamstress and his father a farmer
He took on the role of the older brother

What little they earned was not enough
And his elderly parents were getting sick over time
He had to take charge of his house as soon as possible
And there were vacancies in the palace guard

He was tall and liked to exercise
So he thought he would be good for this job
He enlisted, his performance left everyone satisfied
And after a few weeks, he could wear his uniform

It was a quiet Monday in the castle
He was promoted to an enviable and simple job
He had to guard the princess's room
Too bad, he was forbidden to talk to royalty

But something happened that he never thought of before
It wasn't him, it was the maiden who spoke to him
She said, "Hello, I know you can't talk to me
But I want to know the man who will take care of me"

Feeling nervous, he replied
He told her about himself, about the home where he grew up
He didn't have much, but he lacked nothing
She had everything, but felt like she had nothing

So he resigned from his job that same afternoon

So the two princes confronted their parents

And the maiden thought of the boy every moment
