Sanctified
Since I was a kid, I was troubled, lost my family, fell into the streets
Crackland, São Paulo, a city full of needs, living a dog’s life
I’d stand in front of the windows, dreaming of cars and trendy clothes
But when night fell, my reality was a can of glue
By 17, I was a thug, with more than 10 charges, locked up in juvie
And even being a criminal, this angry kid still had dreams
Always chasing his dreams, this sad kid told his homies
One day I’ll have my family, a nice house, and a brand-new car
I teamed up with some tough guys, nervous during the heist, looking for the score
It was a setup with a lawyer, two businessmen, and a bunch of cash
But when the moment came, it went wrong, the coward messed up the mission
Then I was an adult, and without mercy, I was sent to prison
And always with great virtue, I showed attitude and also my way
I worked with the guys from the faction, the PCC
I took my cut and left, and on the street, I met my brothers from prison
We hit several banks and armored cars, lots of bags with millions
Now the kid’s grown up, 25, solid in the hood
Respects the old heads, the workers, and the young ones
Goes to the store, buys black, blue, or red sneakers
Buys the whole damn thing, pays cash, and still gets a smile from the salesgirl
There are 2 or 3 car dealerships, imported bikes, whatever he wants
Now he just asks God to bring a great woman into his life
And at night when he goes to sleep, he remembers his tough childhood
And thanks God for helping him win in this thug life
Sanctified be the name of the Lord
In this life, you either die or kill, it doesn’t matter if it’s bronze or silver, gold is only for the winners
Sanctified be the name of the Lord
Just thugs, a million PCC, 15 command, crazy life, that’s me.
