Sin Remitente
Melendi
Without Sender
I say goodbye to you
And I do it without pain, even though I love you more than ever
I know it's over
Our talks ended by blaming each other
I clung to what you gave me because you made me brave
And even though sometimes it got out of hand
You were the one who taught me to believe in myself
Although that self, may not always have been the right one
You taught me to break ties that bound me
To exist without being seen, you gave me so many things
And even though sometimes your ways failed
You were always my support when I couldn't see a way out
Cardboard wings that never fly
But at least they pretended
You were what I was missing and you're not leaving because you're surplus
Today I'm just the painter who signs and keeps his work
I'll keep it in a corner, the best of my castle
The one we built together since we were children
I know you'll understand because deep down you know
Today I leave surrealism to paint landscapes
And although the delivery is urgent
The letter is without sender
You taught me to overcome my shyness
You taught me to look into the eyes
But you failed to count to 10
And realize that you had hurt others
Don't think for a moment that I won't miss you anymore
But it's hard for us to see each other because now we live too far apart
But I will always be eternally grateful to you
For those things that without you, I would never have learned on my own
And you know very well that it's not sad, even though it's a farewell
The cure only exists if there was a wound before
You were what I was missing and you're not leaving because you're surplus
Today I'm just the painter who signs and keeps his work
I'll keep it in a corner, the best of my castle
The one we built together since we were children
I know you'll understand because deep down you know
Today I leave surrealism to paint landscapes
And although the delivery is urgent
The letter is without sender
