Yo Me Veo Contigo
Melendi
I See Myself With You
I was born in 1979
Right with democracy
Of a country that is now dying
Years of innocence and mercurochrome
Gave way to shoulder pads
Earrings and grilles
And between Superman, Rocky and Indiana Jones
The Rubik's cube, The Goonies and AIDS
Lennon's death and Ronald Reagan
E.T., Freddy Krueger and our first Rock and Roll
The 80s
Passed and the Berlin Wall
Fell without us realizing, dancing with Billie Jean
Maradona looked to the sky and God reached out to him
I got an Atari and started killing aliens
Among so many fictional heroes, a heroine was sweeping
And youth fashion was mixing... Coca-Cola and aspirin
Then in the 90s the pants
Started to fall in pure skater style
And suddenly Nirvana came to play
And between Paco Pil, Friends and a certain Forrest Gump
Clinton with his famous Macarena
The Simpsons, belly and tongue piercings
And me, feeling invisible, had to start getting tattoos
The 90s
Passed while I was such a scoundrel
That they named the war on oil after me
And then in the year 2000 I decided to become a singer
Writing, I discovered what is truly important
There will always be absurd trends, injustices, and conflicts
Because our true war is
Only with ourselves
I see myself with you
In present and future
In a child's smile
In the clear and in the dark
I see myself with you
In a surreal world
Without barriers or complexes
Take the crazy out of the one who isn't rich
Only the one who has money
In a neglected world
Without keys or locksmiths
I see myself with you
In a world that we now see
That is practically a joke
Although inside us it says
That there are signs that it exists
In a different world
That seems so distant
Just because it's imminent
Deep down we are human
In such a wild, brutal, and ruthless world
Where not only clothes are hung but also hands
Where there is not a single place, not a corner on this earth
And in the same sentence the words make war
In a song that is night
For its sad melody
And an opinion without reproach can turn it into day
Also on the surface
To mitigate the evils
Although I prefer the depth
Where you see the corals
In a world where children
Small ones drawing
When they go outside the lines
We let them explain
Instead of reproaching them
It is possible that we understand
That where we no longer see anything, they see something
